With over 30 years of experience in investment management, banking, and business management I’ve had the privilege of working across multiple sectors—from overseeing a company’s sale to a Fortune 500 firm to advising private clients and institutional investors. Throughout all these efforts, I’ve found that understanding the people behind the projects is key to achieving the desired outcomes.

About Me

With a degree in accounting from the University of Utah, I began my career as an Assistant Controller in a regional parts distribution industry. As I learned the industry and the nuances of capital and financing, I moved to the role of Chief Financial Officer/Controller. The company was sold to a fortune 500 company, and I moved firms to serve as Vice President of real estate investments for a large construction firm. To increase my exposure to best practices beyond my company and my industry, I earned my MBA in Finance & Strategy from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2001.

I went on to focus on financial services, joining Lehman Brothers and then Wells Fargo Advisors, obtaining FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and licenses in variable annuities and life insurance. As a Financial Advisor, I believe that every person has unique situations that must be evaluated to find solutions and structure a plan. As situations change, either with the markets or with the individual, it is important to have a trusted advisor to revisit – and if needed – reshape these plans.

In 2022, I was given the opportunity to become an independent advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network and formed Silver Strand Wealth Management. This move allows me to provide unbiased, personalized wealth management solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs, while still having access to the products and services within Wells Fargo Advisors. The flexibility to provide added client support, establish an office in the city I call home, and come closer to the elusive work / life balance were key in making this change. Throughout this, I believe our clients recognize our commitment to helping them achieve their financial goals through thoughtful, long-term planning.

I live in La Verne and work in Claremont, CA. Away from the office, my wife and I enjoy watching our son’s tennis matches. (I’m told people also enjoy watching our son beat me on the courts.). I also earned my Eagle Scout rank. In my free time, I enjoy deep sea fishing and trying to unlock the secret to the perfect sear.

I have been affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network since 2024, where I have the opportunity to apply my strong background in mathematics and economics to the finance industry. I hold a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine, which provided me with a solid foundation in both quantitative economics and financial analysis.

Before transitioning to finance, I was a competitive tennis player, an experience that taught me the value of discipline, independence, and resilience—qualities that continue to shape both my personal and professional life. At Silver Strand Wealth Management, I apply my education and skills to investment planning and community outreach. My focus is on helping the team to set and achieve client’s financial goals, while also supporting the team with strategic marketing initiatives.
With the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, along with licenses in variable annuities and life insurance, I am eager to continue my journey and contribute to the ongoing success of our clients and the practice. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on a pickleball court or brushing up on my tennis skills
